Any TV lovers in the class? Here is a show I think you may like "House of Cards." But before you watch it (on Netflix) here's an article about it. If you took Econ 101 (or other class) with Hannah then you may remember watching a video with the same name.
Just an interesting qoute from the article: "In the real world, federal funding is a fast-dwindling resource, and populist pandering a bigger drag on problem-solving than any individual villainy" - Powerful ain't it?
What do think of the show? Would you watched it?
I watched all 13 episodes and it was good. There was drama and intrigue and people had so many different sides - I liked it. But I agree it is good because it is nothing like the politics that America really has and that is exactly why people like this show.
ReplyDeleteThis series looks very interesting and I think would be worth a watch. From this article, one quote that stands out to me is "“We know how to relate to each other in Washington. We have a harder time relating to voters back home.” I think this echos the sentiment of other articles posted on this blog which suggest that there is a large gap appearing between the upper and lower social classes.
ReplyDeleteI've seen advertisements on Netflix for this show, but I never really knew what it was about. I would have to agree that it looks interesting and has that extra drama that will grab audiences attention.
ReplyDeleteI have heard of this show but i never really gave it much of a chance. after reading this article, i am intrigued and i am going to check it out on netflix. Obviously it is loosely based off of our congress and I wonder how much of the show is based on real life and how much of it is fictional and just their to attract viewers.
